DRINK DRIVING INITIATIVES (A Situation Assessment of Drink Driving in Kano State – Nigeria ) By Uchenna H. OKORONKWO. The World Health Organization (WHO) and World Bank “World Report on Road Traffic Injury Prevention” has identified drink driving as a leading contributor to traffic crashes globally. Nigeria, a member of the International Community, is made up of 36 States with a Federal Capital- Abuja. Kano State is one of such states. The need to map out best strategies towards reducing the increasing profile of accidents caused by being drunk while driving on the Nigeria roads necessitated this “Situation Assessment”. The Assessment took me round the Centre of Commerce in an effort to identify what the situation on ground is as well as the necessary steps to take in order to arrest it situation.
